Ingredients:
For Burgers:
1 lb ground beef or turkey
½ c chopped white/yellow onions
2 T soy sauce
1 T minced fresh ginger
1 t garlic powder
1 t corn starch
1 t black or white pepper
For Grilled Sesame Rice Cakes:
2 cups sushi rice (medium grain Japanese rice)
2 ½ cups water
½ cup corn starch
1 T roasted sesame seeds
½ t garlic powder
Pinch salt
Vegetable oil
Instructions:
Mix seasonings well into ground meat. Form patties (about ½ cup meat) and grill or pan fry until cooked and brown on both sides.
Cook/steam rice according to directions. Press rice out on flat surface or cookie sheet to ¾-1 inch thick layer with wet spatula or hands. Cut out hamburger patty size circles (3-4” wide) with jar or glass. Pat each side in dry mix and fry until golden brown.
